3RD PERSON SHOOTER - GAME AUDIO
|
A practice in the recording, design and implementation all the audio for a 3D third-person shooter level, made in Unity. The SFX, atmosphere and VO design was produced using the middleware FMOD Studio, among other standard audio editors and tools.
My approach to the project was to create an authentic sound-world for the player with enough depth to create the illusion of reality, involving the implementation of over 500 individual sounds in FMOD studio (impacts, movements, atmospheres, projectiles and dialogue). Reverb zones, filters and side-chains were also implemented using FMODs mixer. The majority of sound files were recorded using an AKG C414 in a sound-proof Foley room. For example, the footsteps and items were performed using a Foley box. Other sounds such as splashes, waterfalls, rivers and various impacts were recorded using a Zoom H-1 Recorder. Other sounds such as gunfire and grenades were selected from various sound libraries. |
